Hello guys, it’s no new thing that WhatsApp reduces the quality of images either sent through chat or when uploading status. Just in case you are yet to observe, have a quick try by sending a picture to a friend, make sure to check the picture before and after the process to see the size and resolution difference.
How to check image size before sending?
Navigate to the image in your Gallery folder and open the its property or detail to see the size.
How to check image size after sending?
To check image size after sending, locate file on your phone, navigate to WhatsApp folder and open:
Media >> WhatsApp Images >> Sent
You should see the image there, identify the image and check property or details to see the size.
You probably thinking why?
This policy was introduced to enable smooth and fast transfer of image files. As reasonable as it, not everyone will benefit from this policy, it will eventually make some people stop using the platform to send picture because they need to retain picture quality. But some people won’t probably mind in as much as its quality is not too distorted. Either of the way don’t be bordered the good news is you can still send images without loosing a bit of quality. Just follow my simple steps to get the HACK!
How to transfer image without loosing a bit of quality on WhatsApp
You won’t transfer image through the traditional way, instead we transfer it through document.
- Open document transfer by clicking on the pin icon right beside the camera icon
- Select the first option which says “Document“
- Once it opens, select the first option again which says “browse other document”
From there you should be able to navigate through your images.
Yay! You are done, simple right.
The hack above is just a way of telling WhatsApp you are not sending image but document, with this, WhatsApp will handle our file as a document and not image therefore avoiding the automatic compression of the file.
NOTE: This hack will consume more bandwidth (data) since we are transferring the exact size of file and of course might take longer to transfer depending on your network speed.
Try this and see how your image remains intact, feel free to ask any question in the comment section!!
